K-Tuned B-Series / D-Series Adjustable Short Shifter

K-Tuned released its original B/D-Series shifter in 2012. Since then, the design has gone through three major versions along with several smaller updates. This redesigned version takes everything that worked from the original shifter and improves the strength, adjustment, precision, and overall shift feel.

Redesigned Lower Shifter Assembly

The original white plastic ball cage has been replaced with a precision-machined Delrin bushing. Delrin is one of the strongest plastics available and is an excellent material for automotive applications because it offers:

  • High resistance to chemicals
  • Excellent wear and abrasion resistance
  • A low coefficient of friction
  • Smooth and consistent movement
  • Long-term durability

The Delrin bushing provides a tighter and more precise feel than the factory accordion-style plastic housing used on OEM shifters. It is protected by an outer TPV bushing that helps keep dirt, debris, and contaminants out of the bearing assembly.

Upgraded Billet Aluminum Base Plate

The factory stamped-steel base plate has been replaced with a thick 0.35-inch aluminum plate. This upgraded plate provides a stronger and more rigid mounting point while eliminating the corrosion and deterioration commonly found on older factory steel plates.

The base plate supports the shifter bearing assembly, making its strength and condition important to the overall feel of the shifter. Factory plates are often worn, rusted, loose, or completely missing when aftermarket shift linkage is installed.

An additional threaded mounting hole has also been added to triangulate the assembly and further increase rigidity.

Adjustable Throw From Inside the Vehicle

The redesigned lower shaft retains the adjustable throw found on the original K-Tuned shifter, but adjustment can now be completed from inside the vehicle.

The lower adjustment shaft is constructed from black-anodized 6061 aluminum and features machined notches that make it easy to rotate the shaft up or down. A machined sight window allows you to clearly view the numbered internal steel shaft, making throw adjustments easier to measure and repeat.

This allows the driver to fine-tune the shifter throw without removing or accessing the linkage from underneath the vehicle.

Independent Height and Throw Adjustment

Shifter height and throw can be adjusted independently, allowing you to choose the exact position and shift movement that works best for your driving style.

You can raise or lower the shift knob without changing the throw setting, or adjust the throw without changing the overall shifter height.

Updated Appearance

The upper portion of the shifter maintains the familiar K-Tuned design found on previous versions. The elbows are black anodized and then precision machined along the edges and logo areas for a clean, uniform finish.

The result is a functional, motorsport-inspired shifter that provides improved rigidity, precise adjustment, and a direct shift feel.

Fitment Notes

  • D15 and D16 applications must use the factory steel base plate.
