Description

2016-2021 Honda Civic Type-R Front Bumper Conversion Kit for Base / Si model

The 10th Generation Honda Civic Base (Ex, Ex-l) and Si. This fits both the coupe and Sedan. This is not compatible with a Real Type-R due to width. This is a high quality plastic / poly bumper which computer molded 3d and fits very well. The bumper is not painted so you can match to your car and the front grille comes glossy black.

You receive everything in the kit. Bumper, Grille, Vents, fog covers.

Conversion bumper - good quality with a few issues.

PACKAGING: Bumper was possibly warped in shipping, made for a hard time with fitting the grilles and accessories. The upper grille area was especially out of shape. This could be fixed with a more sturdy frame to keep the bumper from warping during transit and being tossed around. CLIPS: The clips for the upper and lower grilles were a bit fiddly to get correctly into place. Had to use a lot of pressure to force things back into shape to clip in. Not sure if that was due to the warp, or if it was a lack of precision in the mold. Eyelid pieces fit ok. FENDER SIDE: The corners were definitely an issue and still are. Need to be adjusted with heat. FRONT FITMENT: This is the most important part. Definitely have to cut the top of the crash bar, it will not fit with the upper wedge of the crash bar and it must be removed (I used a rotor saw meant for metal and a crowbar to pop it off). However, if you remove the upper wedge of the crash bar, which is just soldered on top, you can leave the crash bar intact. The plastic baffles behind the bumper have to be trimmed or removed. FOG LIGHTS: They sit too low behind the trim bezels. If you have anything other than Type R fog lights, which you assuredly do, they aren't going to fit properly. This is a very picky and detailed review. I'll say it fits pretty well for a replica bumper and is still good quality. Once it's on it looks great. Definitely better than any FRP or Fiberglass one I've ever attempted to install. It generally fits well, but there's a lack of precision in certain spots. Those small errors here and there start to propagate into larger and larger errors down the line. The OEM stuff just falls together, this one took some work. Anyway, those are my takeaways.
