The exedy stage 1 has been a legendary clutch for many years for many Honda makes, the stage 1 is essentially what we call a sport street clutch. It has oem like manners, but with a little kick. Generally Exedy builds all of Hondas oem clutches, so this is the r&d experts at Exedy throwing at you an even more potent but very well behaved clutch that can handle on average quite a bit of power over stock. With all vehicles we have worked with we have seen a stage one capable of handling nearly 400-500hp with ease. The only time where it becomes an issue is when you go to slicks, this is where the clutch will fight the power of the car and can tend to lose. With this in mind this is a great clutch for anyone looking to replace oem or who have already exceeded the oem clutch but dont want the bad behaviors of a puck clutch. The other benefit to the full-face orangic stage 1 is the longevity. Generally they last as long as the oem units do. Which far surpasses other stage 2, stage 3, stage 4 clutches on the market, which usually can handle power but with that comes great sacrifice in longevity.

EXEDY Stage 1 Organic Racing Clutches use premium friction materials that are resistant to slipping & bursting. Increased clamp loads give the extra holding power to handle modified engines. This is an ideal clutch for street & track use.

Drivability is similar to the stock clutch, pedal effort will be slightly higher because of the higher clamping loads. All of Exedy Stage 1 clutch discs have spring center dampers to reduce drivetrain shock and provide smooth clutch engagement, just like oem clutch does.

Ultra-Fiber Organic Disc
This advanced facing material provides the high heat resistance essential for motorsports. It was developed by reviewing both the copper wire ratio and the composition of the high strength fiber. The Ultra Fiber Disc maintains the superior half-engagement feeling specific to the Organic material. With improved high heat resistance, it provides the functionality essential for street performance and mild racing applications.

Clutch Cover
These clutch covers are designed to achieve a clamping load that is approx. 40% higher than the genuine part allowing a higher torque transmitting capacity. Ductile material is used for all pressure plates and, high burst strength can be achieved in all temperature ranges.
