The AEM Cold Air Intake for the 2016 Honda Civic 2.0L Non-Turbo, this intake is built to replace the restrictive stock piping, airbox and filter and replace it with a high performance unit thats built for increase air flow that draw in cooler air and provides more horsepower, a stronger sound note and improved torque and throttle response. AEM has been at the forefront of intake development for Honda's since the 90's and they have released this kit for the new 2016 non turbo 2.0L. The air filter is AEM's Dryflow technology which is a synthetic washable air filter that allows for easy maintenance and improved power. The air filter is placed into the original air box space and is protected by newer feature not generally seen on older model intakes from AEM, which is a heat shield. Like all heat-shields this extra barrier helps protect the intake from ingesting hotter engine compartment air and draw in cooler air from the outside thus increasing the density of the air and providing more power.
The air intake tubing is constructed from performance minded and smooth air flow producing mandrel-bent aluminum featuring the classic AEM gunmetal gray powder coated finish. This intake was developed to accommodate all of Honda's new factory emissions control devices including the mass air flow sensor and engine vent line. The tapered cylinder shaped AEM Dryflow air filter is made from an oil-free, synthetic filter media that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed (depending on driving conditions). The air intake system is easy to install with commonly available tools and it is backed by AEM's Lifetime Limited Warranty. Some AEM air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards, while others are 50 state legal.
